Addressing Gaps in Mongolia’s Public Transport Complaints System

This brief provides recommendations on gender-responsive service quality improvements based on public focus group discussions, international best practices, and direct engagement with the Public Transport Department (PTD) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The brief suggests building a positive approach to complaints, tackling sexual harassment in public transport, and improving communication about the complaints system. It also highlights the creation of a code of practice for handling complaints, along with training for the PTD, which can serve as a guide for other transport departments in enhancing service quality and management systems.
