Asia Bond Monitor - March 2026
This edition shows that emerging East Asian financial markets remained resilient between 3 November 2025 and 6 February 2026 despite rising global uncertainties. Local governments can use green, social, sustainability, and other labeled bonds for sustainable development.
The authors note that the local currency bonds outstanding reached USD30.6 trillion by the end of 2025, following moderated expansion of 2.1% quarter-on-quarter in the fourth quarter. ASEAN+3’s sustainable bonds outstanding reached USD1 trillion at the end of 2025, accounting for 18.5% of the global total. ASEAN+3 led all global regions in sustainable bond issuance in 2025.
