This publication provides an overview of air quality in Southeast Asia and highlights priority actions to strengthen monitoring, coordination, and financing for clean air.
Urban air pollution remains a major challenge across Southeast Asia, affecting public health, economic productivity, and environmental sustainability. This publication examines key sources of urban air pollution and the institutional and technical capacities supporting air quality management across eight cities in members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Prepared with support from the ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility, it provides analysis to assist policymakers, city governments, and development partners in advancing evidence-based air quality management in Southeast Asia.
