Today’s a big day― I‘m finally being launched into space!
Right now, I‘m inside this rocket, ready for lift-off.
(5, 4, 3, 2, 1) And… blast off!
The rocket carrying me has a pretty cool feature you‘ll see in just a moment.
What is it, you ask? Watch where the booster goes after separation!
See that? The rocket returns to the launch pad!
That’s because it‘s reusable, which means we can use it again to launch more satellites.
Thanks to this innovation, the cost of space launches has significantly decreased.

Now that I’m in orbit, it’s time to start my mission.
Earth looks pretty close from up here, doesn’t it?
That’s because I’m flying in a relatively low orbit.
Satellites like me are called Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.

Uh-oh! A massive earthquake just hit down there .
Undersea cables and ground stations are damaged―communications are down!
I’ve got to help those people get reconnected to the internet!
Good thing I’m up here in space―earthquakes don’t affect me!
Alright, time to shine. Here we go~!
Connections are coming back!
But wait―I’m moving farther away from the people below...
If I go out of range, their internet will be cut off again!
Don’t worry! I have just the solution.
I’ll hand the connection off to a nearby satellite, just like passing a baton in a relay race.
That’s how we work together to keep the world constantly connected.

That’s also why we need hundreds-even thousands-of satellites like me.
Together, we form what’s called a satellite constellation!
Look over there―someone else needs my help!
You know how cruise ships and airplanes used to have spotty or super slow internet?
Well, not anymore!
With me up here, you can send huge files, stream movies,and even play fast-paced online games in real-time.
How is that possible?
Because I orbit closer to Earth than traditional geostationary satellites do,
so data don’t have to travel as far.
Shorter distance means less delay, faster speeds, and more stable connections!
